➤ ➤ The best and quickest way to assess the Information Systems department and point out the most critical areas if any.

ICT Assessment is a tool for assessing an Information Systems department and find out strengths and weakness areas.

Areas subject to assessment are:

➤ Strategy: This area examines whether there is a strategy for the company Information Systems, how it is managed and its relationship with the business.

➤ Information & Data: This area examines the availability of information and data for the business.

➤ Infrastructure: This area examines the adequacy of infrastructure to meet the business needs.

➤ People: This area examines the contribution of staff to the company Information Systems.

➤ Technology: This area examines the adequacy of available technology to the Information Systems strategy.

➤ Organization: This area examines the organizational capability of the company Information Systems area.

For each one of these areas some indicators are provided to enable evaluation of the key parameters of the area itself.

For each indicator 5 scenarios are described and everyone has assigned a score that will have to be selected by the interviewee designated by the customer ICT department.

Scenarios will have to be discussed one by one with the interviewee, by the individual(s) who are in charge to the interviews, to identify the one that better describes the actual ICT department situation.

An higher score means that the ICT department is performing nearer to what is considered the optimal scenario for that indicator.

Once a score is assigned to each indicator in each area, the assessment is ended and two graphs are produced to easy the overall analysis of the results.

The detailed graph shows, for each indicator, if it is critical or not:

➤ Red - Very Critical - The Information Systems department is performing poorly.
➤ Yellow - Critical - The Information Systems department is performing inadequately.
➤ Green - Noncritical - The Information Systems department is performing adequately.

The summary graph shows, for each area, if it is critical or not:

➤ Red - Very Critical - The Information Systems department is performing poorly in that area.
➤ Yellow - Critical - The Information Systems department is performing inadequately in that area.
➤ Green - Noncritical - The Information Systems department is performing adequately in that area.

In addition, the user can generate a PDF report containing, for each area, the specific scenario agreed upon by the interviewee and the individual(s) in charge to the interviews, in conjunction to two mentioned graphs (summary and detailed). Any critical areas will then be easily identified.

The PDF report can be printed directly from iPad or sent by e-mail.
